This legislation repeals Obamacare’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), an unelected panel of bureaucrats tasked with cutting Medicare spending without any Congressional oversight and no obligation to engage in public notice or comment.

The funding will be used to build 1 mile of new electrical line, improve 44 miles of existing line, as well as other system improvements.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 469, Sunshine for Regulations and Regulatory Decrees and Settlements Act. This legislation ends the practice of “sue and settle” used by federal agencies and special interest groups to create new regulations outside of the normal rule-making process. H.R. 469 will instead allow greater transparency and public input by mandating that agencies publish the original complaint online within 15 days.

This bill permanently ends the practice used by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to incentivize and sometimes require defendants to pay outside groups as part of their settlement agreements, rather than compensating actual victims.
