LaMalfa Statement on United States Mexico and Canada Trade Agreement
Oct 2, 2018
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement on the newly formed trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada that will serve as the replacement for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
LaMalfa said: “This new agreement between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico seems to be a positive step for American trade interests. While the American economy has rebounded as of late, a new trade agreement that fosters job creation could greatly benefit working families in rural America. Many farmers and producers in Northern California could certainly use increased opportunities to export their crops and other goods. I look forward to thoroughly reviewing this agreement to ensure that it’s in the best interest of our district.”
Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
