(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $880,000 to Superior California Economic Development of Redding, CA in Shasta County. The funding will be matched with $220,000 in local funds and is intended to help businesses become more resilient to natural disaster, such as wildfires.

PMG also announced the availability of “PMG Connect,” a new virtual care platform that allows patients to see PMG providers via mobile phone, tablet or personal computer.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the Senate released the text of a disaster aid package which would provide $19.1 billion for states affected by disasters in 2018. This includes areas impacted by the Carr Fire and Camp Fire in Northern California. Paradise will be eligible for an additional $150 million in rural development funding. The measure will be considered in the Senate shortly before being sent to the House.

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) and Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) issued the following statement after the House passed their legislation, the Honoring Veterans’ Families Act, which would allow the spouse of a veteran to be included on the veteran’s grave marker upon their death. Due to a flaw in current law, the Department of Veterans Affairs cannot include almost any information about the spouse of a veteran on a VA-provided tombstone at a non-VA cemetery.
