LaMalfa Says Special Counsel’s Testimony was Political Theater

Press Release
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after Special Counsel Robert Mueller testified before the House Judiciary Committee and the House Intelligence Committee today regarding his report on Russian interference in the U.S. Presidential election.

LaMalfa said: “Today’s hearings only hammered home the simple fact we already knew – the Special Counsel did not find collusion between the President and the Russian government. This was nothing more than the ‘books on tape’ version of the Special Counsel’s written report delivered to Congress months ago and a colossal waste of time. If anything, today’s testimonies only raise more questions on why this entire investigation was even opened in the first place and why exculpatory evidence wasn’t included in the report. After wasting 22 months, $25 million taxpayer dollars, and countless other resources, Americans deserve to know the truth about how this whole episode was fabricated and who is responsible. We need answers on the Steele dossier, the abuse of our intelligence services, and the involvement of the DNC. If Democrats put half as much effort into improving our country as they put into baseless attempts to impeach the President, we might just be able to get something done around here.”

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
