Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R – Richvale) joined a group of Republican Members of Congress on an official trip to view the southern border in Arizona. During this trip, Members received an operational briefing from the U.S. Border Patrol Station in Yuma and toured their Centralized Processing Center. They also went on field tours to see the halted construction of the border wall and a staging site used by cartels to smuggle children across the border.

Washington DC- Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R- Richvale) announced that he has nominated 16 northern California residents as candidates to the United States Service Academies. The U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy each require a Congressional nomination in order to attend.

The Democrats' bill as currently written lengthens the amount of time background checks can take, meaning citizens could face long delays to purchase firearms.
