Representative LaMalfa Thanks Biden Administration for Wildfire Assistance

August 11, 2021

(Quincy, CA) Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement in regards to the ongoing wildfires in Northern California and additional resources provided at the direction of the Biden Administration.

"I'm grateful to the Biden Administration for the additional 600 firefighters, aircraft, and other resources he has committed to the Dixie Fire and other wildfires burning in Northern California, including the specially equipped C-130 for fighting fires and MQ-9 drone for real-time wildfire mapping. Last night, the Dixie Fire continued to spread in Lassen and Plumas Counties, becoming the largest single wildfire in California history. This is the third time in four years the State's record was set – and the second year in a row these blazes burned in the 1st Congressional District," said LaMalfa. "These assets are desperately and urgently needed. I look forward to continuing to work with the Administration to get assistance to CAL FIRE, our Federal firefighters, and fire victims across Northern California."

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California's First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
