Rep. LaMalfa Honors Margaret Thatcher

Washington, DC – Redding, CA – Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) today released the following statement on the passing of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher:

“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Margaret Thatcher, who left her mark on the world as a trailblazer for individual rights, limited government and women in leadership positions. Rising from obscurity, she led her nation out of an economic crisis, championed free market reforms and played a key role in liberating millions from oppression behind the Iron Curtain.

“It is no exaggeration to say that the Cold War may not have been won without her tremendous efforts and I am comforted by the fact that she now joins her great friend and colleague, President Reagan. My thoughts are with her family, friends and the nation to which she gave so much.”
