February 17, 2016

Richvale, CA – Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) today announced the start of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition. Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition that honors the talents and abilities of the nation’s young people. Last year’s winning artwork, Universal Soul by Karly Chin of Redding, California, will hang in the Capitol through May, 2016, when it will be replaced by the 2016 Congressional Art Competition winner.

“I am pleased to announce the start of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition,” said LaMalfa. “Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
