LaMalfa, Nielsen, Gallagher, and Butte County Urge Camp Fire Survivors to Stay in Contact with FEMA

May 31, 2019
(Paradise, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale), State Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Tehama), State Assemblyman James Gallagher (R-Yuba City), and Butte County Supervisor Steve Lambert are urging Camp Fire survivors to update their housing status with FEMA.
Rep. LaMalfa, Sen. Nielsen, Assemblyman Gallagher, and Butte County Supervisor Steve Lambert issued the following statement:
"When the Camp Fire wreaked havoc on our community seven months ago, thousands were forced from their homes and, for many, a return is still not yet possible. It's important for those eligible for housing assistance to update FEMA on your current living situation so that no one falls through the cracks. FEMA needs to know how many people in our area still require assistance in order to best address the needs of our community. If your current housing situation has changed, now is the time to let FEMA know."
Of the households that have secured temporary housing following the Camp Fire, nearly half were staying with friends or family or staying in tents and RVs. Those who are eligible for housing assistance and still have a housing need are urged to update FEMA on their current situation to ensure there is an accurate count on temporary housing needs.
Call 1-800-621-3362 to talk to a FEMA representative to update your current housing status and needs.
