LaMalfa: Biden’s Climate Mandates Unrealistic, Harmful in the Real World
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after President Joe Biden announced his latest executive orders on climate change.
Rep. LaMalfa said, "President Biden may preach about unity, but the only unity he's pursued so far is with our foreign competitors. His executive orders on climate have handcuffed domestic energy production, killed American jobs, and stuck a thumb in the eye of Canada, one of our strongest allies, just on the heels of the USMCA agreement. For all the rhetoric about prioritizing science, his blanket mandates ignore common sense. Climate envoy John Kerry would realize the absurdity of mandating electric trucks if he left his gated community and tried driving one long distances over mountainous terrain like in the North State. Pie-in-the-sky executive fiats like this may sound good and reasonable to Washington bureaucrats, but they are unrealistic and harmful in the real world. Biden needs to stop with the sweeping executive mandates and let Congress do its job so that rural Americans can have an input on policies that actually affect them."
