LaMalfa Applauds USDA’s $1.7 Million Investment in Rural Electric Infrastructure in Modoc County
(Alturas, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) released the following statement after the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued $1.7 million as part of the Electric Loan Program to the Surprise Valley Electrical Corporation, which services nearly 6,500 people in Modoc County, CA as well as parts of Nevada and Oregon. This money will be used to purchase and make improvements to a headquarters facility for Surprise Valley Electrical Corporation and was issued after USDA announced that it would be investing $900 million to improve rural electric infrastructure across 16 states.

Thank you to USDA for this investment in electric infrastructure improvements for the Surprise Valley Electrical Corporation in Modoc County.
