LaMalfa Announces Wastewater infrastructure Funding for Mount Shasta

September 21, 2018
(Richvale, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development announced a grant of $1,608,000.00 and an additional loan of $1,309,000.00 to replace sewer collection mainlines and install additional manholes in downtown Mount Shasta.
LaMalfa said: "Inadequate wastewater infrastructure has been a serious problem for the city of Mt. Shasta, often exposing residents to raw sewage that can lead to serious health issues. This is a worthwhile standard of living upgrade for city residents, and I'm glad to see this project get underway."
Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California's First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
