Press Release

(Paradise, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) announced a $1,027,716.65 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the temporary relocation of Children’s Community Charter School in Paradise, CA. Children’s Community Charter School was destroyed in the 2018 Camp Fire, and this funding will allow for school to take place until their new facility is ready to occupy.

LaMalfa said: “School districts across the country are contending with hurdles in trying to restart school this fall. That’s enough to put a strain on most schools, but for Paradise’s Children’s Community Charter School, they also have to figure out post-fire where students would return to. This grant from FEMA will help the school cover the costs of their temporary classrooms after their facility was destroyed during the Camp Fire, marking another step towards the area’s recovery. I thank FEMA for their continued support in working with our office and ensuring that students at Children’s Community Charter School have proper facilities to learn while their school is being reconstructed.”
