LaMalfa Announces FEMA, DOL Grants to Boost Camp Fire Recovery
(Butte County, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued $4,244,370.17 to Paradise Community Village Apartments and $3,187,709.27 to Butte County to assist with disaster recovery following the 2018 Camp Fire.
Additionally, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced an additional $14,666,667 to California to continue disaster recovery efforts after the November 2018 wildfires, including the Camp Fire. These funds can be used for disaster clean up, continued employment and training for displaced workers.
LaMalfa said: “Today marks a year and a half since California’s most destructive wildfire ever. We have made strong steps towards recovery in the last eighteen months, and the current coronavirus pandemic has not halted our progress. These grants will help produce additional housing and address other long-standing issues in the area. I’m happy to see FEMA and DOL are continuing support for Camp Fire victims and the recovery needs of Northern California.”
