House Strengthens Efforts to Recover Missing U.S. Citizens

February 14, 2018

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the House passed H.Res.129 - Calling on the Department of Defense, other elements of the Federal Government, and foreign governments to intensify efforts to investigate, recover, and identify all missing and unaccounted-for personnel of the United States.

LaMalfa said: "This resolution is nothing short of what the American people expect. The U.S. government should be exhausting every possible option in order to find missing Americans and return them safely to their families. Whether it's a military service member potentially serving as a POW in enemy territory, or a civilian that has gone missing abroad, we must do everything in our power to bring them home – and we must ensure all foreign governments are cooperating fully to aid in this process."

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California's First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
