Congressman LaMalfa Recognizes Service Academy Appointments From Northern California

(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) recognized three Northern California students who received appointments to the United States Service Academies. U.S. Service Academy graduates receive a first-rate undergraduate education with options to pursue advanced degrees, are provided with an education and experience that will offer a world of career opportunities and must spend a minimum of 5 years serving their country on active duty as a military officer.

“Receiving an appointment to one of our nation’s elite Service Academies is quite an achievement, and I am pleased to see so many qualified and capable candidates come out of Nor Cal. I am sure that these three appointees will receive a top-tier education and will go on to have a decorated career in service. Congratulations to this year’s appointments,”said Congressman LaMalfa.

Congressman LaMalfa based his nominations on the recommendation of his Screening Committee, which is responsible for reviewing applications, interviewing candidates and recommending a slate of nominees. The following students received appointments from the Congressman’s nominations:

Miss Tyler Blehm – Redding, CA
       U.S. Air Force Academy

Mr. Jakob Royse – Redding, CA
        U.S. Naval Academy

Miss Abigail Watt – Millville, CA
      U.S. Air Force Academy
