Reps. LaMalfa and Bishop Lead Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus

February 5, 2025

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) and Congressman Sanford D. Bishop (D-Georgia) re-registered the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus and will serve as the caucus’s bipartisan Republican and Democratic co-chairs for the 119th Congress.

“As a lifelong car enthusiast, I’ve spent most of my life working on cars and know firsthand how important this industry is to so many Americans,” said Congressman LaMalfa. “I’m happy to co-chair the Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus with Congressman Bishop, pushing back against overreach and keeping this passion alive for future car enthusiasts.”

“Cars are part of what makes America great. They embody the freedom, technological innovation, and creative spirit of our country. They are everyday workhorses, engineering marvels that we push to the limits in sport and competition, and they are iconic national treasures that continue to be cherished by collectors and enthusiasts,” said Congressman Bishop. “I look forward to working with Congressman LaMalfa to highlight this important part of Americana which continues to inspire us to build and dream.”

The Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus was formed in 1996 to recognize the contributions the automotive performance and motorsports industry has made, and continues to make, to the U.S. economy.

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus and a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba Counties.
