Rep. LaMalfa Celebrates Trump Administration’s Funding for Sites Reservoir
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) released the following statement after the Trump Administration granted $315.5 million to California water storage projects including $200 million for Sites Reservoir:
"Today’s funding allocation is great news for Sites Reservoir and California’s water future. This project is more than just a plan; it’s a vital solution to address our state's ongoing water challenges. While we still wait on the State of California to issue the final permits, this funding moves us forward on a project that’s widely recognized as essential for meeting our long-term water needs. As I’ve emphasized before, we must have more storage capacity to capture more water during wet years to prepare for the inevitable dry periods. Sites Reservoir provides that critical storage, and this funding is a significant step in ensuring a more reliable water supply for Californians. Thanks to President Trump, and to Secretary Burgum for doing what is needed to fix California’s water problems,” said Rep. LaMalfa.
