Lassen County District Attorney Meets with President Trump & Congressman LaMalfa to Oppose California Sanctuary State Law
May 17, 2018
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after meeting with Lassen County District Attorney Stacey Montgomery, who joined a group of California leaders at the White House to discuss efforts to nullify California's unconstitutional Sanctuary State policies.
LaMalfa said: "California's Sanctuary State policies are unconstitutional and a danger to the public. We were fortunate to have Lassen County District Attorney Stacey Montgomery and many other conservative California leaders travel across the country to meet with President Trump and demonstrate that there are many in our state who don't agree with Governor Brown and the California legislature's irresponsible and illegal policies. They're fighting the good fight. Americans welcome legal immigration. We cannot sit back and watch as illegal aliens – often criminals – endanger our communities, as DA Montgomery has seen firsthand. I thank her for her passionate commitment to this issue and for fighting to protect the safety of North State residents."
