LaMalfa Announces U.S. Service Academies Forum
(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after announcing that he will be holding a forum for local high school students who are interested in attending a United States Military Academy. Representatives from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines service academies will be in attendance, as well as staff from Congressman LaMalfa's office, to answer any questions about the nomination process.
LaMalfa said: "Those who join our service academies and ultimately go on to serve in the United States military are an asset to our nation's defense. I invite any high school student who is interested in any of the military academies – or those who are interested in the nomination process – to join me and representatives from each of the academies on July 29th to learn all that they have to offer. They can discuss how the academies can help prepare these young Americans for their future and also for the strong military our country needs.
Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California's First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
