Rep. LaMalfa Celebrates National Day of Prayer on the House Floor

Washington, DC – Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) today recognized the upcoming celebration of the National Day of Prayer on May 2, 2013 by delivering remarks on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. "Our National Day of Prayer is a solemn occasion, when Americans of all backgrounds and faiths, are encouraged to pause and turn towards God in gratitude for all the privileges we enjoy as Americans," LaMalfa said. "We witness reminders every day that freedom, success, and the ability to pursue and achieve happiness are not guaranteed, but have endured in America through God's grace.""Benjamin Franklin once said that, ‘Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.'
